Cyrielle Billon, PhD, holds a primary appointment at the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy as a part of the Center for Clinical Pharmacology. Billon received her undergraduate and post-graduate education in genetic and molecular and cellular biology from the University of Lyon, France. She received a PhD in Integrative molecular and cellular biology under Jacques Samarut from the Ecole Normale Superieur of Lyon, France. Prior to joining UHSP, Dr. Billon was a postdoctoral research fellow at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Burris.

Dr. Billon works on characterizing the role of synthetic ligands for nuclear receptors developed in the lab on cardiovascular, metabolic, and inflammatory disorders. Her research is to identify the functions of the orphan nuclear ERRs in muscle pathophysiology and metabolic disorders using novel synthetic ligands developed by the lab.
